How to apply for you provisional licence
If you have never held a driving licence before, you must apply for a
provisional licence. You need to obtain a form D1 and a form D750. Both forms are available from most post offices.
You will need to enclose original documentation confirming your identity and a passport sized colour photograph taken
against a plain light background, it may take up to three weeks to get your provisional licence returned.
Changing your licence when you pass your test
Once you have passed your theory and practical tests, exchange your test pass certificate for a new licence as soon
as possible. If you do not do this within 2 years of passing your test, you will have to retake and pass both theory
